GENERAL 

  • When should I arrive on the first day and one does the boat depart?

On the first day in Marina Kaštela, our registration point is open from 9 a.m. The boats depart around 5 p.m. You should come a few hours early so that you can register, transfer your personal belonging to the boat, meet your skipper and other crew members before departing.  

Once you register and transfer the belongings, you may relax in the Marina Kaštela pool, free of charge. The perfect place for relaxation and introduction before departure.  

  • What kind of personal documents do I need on the first day during registration?

You must provide a personal ID document when registering. An ID card or passport that will be kept by your skipper during your journey.  

  • Is there an age limit for participation?

Yes, there is. To participate in our journey, you must be 20 years old, i.e. your 20th birthday must be in the same year as the journey.   

  • When do we return to Marina Kaštela?

We will return to Marina Kaštela on Friday afternoon. You may, of course, spend the last night on the boat. All members of the crew must leave their boats at the latest by Saturday at 9 a.m.  

  • How much luggage do I need?

Because of limited space in the cabin, we recommend as little as possible. The backpack is the best option.  

  • What kind of clothes and footwear do I need?

Bring only the basics, because you don’t need a lot on the boat. A few T-shirts, two pairs of short pants or dresses for going out, two bathing suits, one sunbathing towel and flip-flops.  

  • Is there any necessary equipment that I should bring?

We would recommend that you bring sunscreen, sunglasses, hat or cap, phone charge and a little flag of your country. And of course, for our party, inflatable mattress of unusual shape or a crazy costume.

  • Is there a store near Marina Kaštela?

In Marina Kaštela there is a store where you can buy everything you need. There is also a large supermarket within the walking distance from Marina Kaštela.  

  • Will you take pictures of us? 

Of course. A professional photographer will join you on the sail as part of our team, and he will take many pictures every day. We will share these materials with you after you finish your journey. The materials may also be used for promotional purposes. If you do not wish to be photographed, please mention this on the first day, so that the photographer can avoid you.  

BED, CABIN OR ENTIRE SAILBOAT

  • I wish to come alone to the sailboat. What should I choose to sleep on a separate bed? 

Okay. When paying, please select the option of separate place i.e. bed and we will automatically place you in a cabin with bunk beds.   

  • A friend and I would like a cabin with bunk beds. What should we do? 

No problem. When making cabin reservations, if you are of the same sex, we will automatically place you in a bunk bed cabin. And you can always leave a remark that you are friends and that you wish a bunk bed cabin.   

  • We are a couple, we would like a cabin with double beds. Is this possible? 

Of course. When making reservations, if you are of different sex, we will automatically place you in a double bed cabin. And you can always leave a remark that you are a couple and that you wish a double bed cabin, or if you are just friends that you wish a bunk bed cabin.  

  • We are 2 couples; can we be on the same boat?

Of course. Choose 2 cabins when making a payment. If you pay at the same time, we will immediately know that you wish to be on the same boat. And you can always leave a remark that you are coupled so that we can place you in double bed cabins.  

  • We are 4 couples; can we be alone on our boat.

Of course. Choose the entire sailboat when making a payment, and it’s all yours.  

  • There is 10 of us. We are friends from college, and we wish to be alone on our boat. Is this possible? 

Of course. Choose the 5-cabin option when making a payment and if you pay for all 5 cabins at the same time, we will know that you wish to be together and will place you on the same boat. This means that you will be alone on the 5-cabin boat, i.e. a 10-person boat. And you can always leave a remark that you wish to be on the same boat together.

  • What is the crew ration on the sailboats?

Our rule that we try to apply is 50/50. We wish to arrange so that the number of male and female crew members is the same on every boat.   

LOCATION

  • What is the starting point of our journey?

The starting point of our journey is Marina Kaštela (Cesta Franje Tuđmana 213), which is in the town of Kaštel Gomilica, near the city of Split and Split Airport. The exact location with the coordinates may be found on our website by clicking the “starting point” link.

  • What is the final destination of our journey?

The final destination of our journey is the same as the starting point. Our journey begins and ends in Marina Kaštela.   

  • What is the distance from Marina Kaštela to the airport?

Marina Kaštela is 13 minutes away by taxi from Split Airport.  

  • Where can we park the car near our starting point?

Marina Kaštela provides free guarded parking for all our guests. Therefore, you can safely leave your car there during the entire journey.   

SAILBOATS AND SKIPPERS 

  • Can we connect the phone or tablet to the sound system of the sailboat?

Yes. Our sailboats offer the sound system connectivity through the AUX cable. 

  • How can we charge our phones?

The best option is a phone charger with multiple USB ports. So that several phones can be charged at the same time.  

  • Do the sailboats have WiFi?

All our sailboats have WiFi.

  • Does the price include the towels and bedsheets?

Yes. The bedsheets and towels for person hygiene await each crew members on his/her bed.  

  • Personal belongings and documents, are they safe on the sailboat when we are not there?

Of course. When the crew members are not on the sailboat, the belongings are still safe. The sailboat doors are lockable, and our skippers keep their eye on them even when you are not there. You can relax and enjoy.  

  • Do the sailboats have showers?

Yes. Most sailboats have a shower in each toilet. But the most enticing is the one on the rear platform of the sailboat, and every one of our sailboats has it.  

  • What is the size of the fridge on the sailboat?

Each sailboat has two fridges that are just enough, but not very large. Therefore, don’t buy too many fresh groceries that need to be kept in the fridge, and that you plan to bring with you. The best idea is to buy only the necessary groceries.   

  • What is the cost of the skipper?

The skippers are included in the price. Each sailboat has one professional, experienced skipper who knows our route and sea conditions very well.  

  • What are our obligations toward the skipper?

During your stay on the boat, you must listen to your skipper and of course, help him if he needs assistance. When you eat, the skipper eats as well! This is one of the rules of the sailboat. The skipper does not have time to prepare food because he is taking care of the boat. If you invite the skipper out for dinner, the rule is that you should pay for it.  

  • For all questions regarding the behavior on the sailboat, we should talk to the skipper?

That’s right. All our skippers are very well aware of the rules of behavior that make the experience as pleasant as possible for the entire crew. On the first day, before setting sail, the skipper will instruct you how to behave on the boat and what rules must be observed to protect the safety of the entire crew.  

  • What kind of a tip is left to the skipper?

If you are satisfied with the service provided by your skipper, it is usual that all members of the crew jointly collect a tip for the skipper and thank him.  

  • For all questions regarding the sailing schedule and forthcoming destinations, we should also talk to the skipper?  

Yes, you can. Our skippers know all the details about departure, arrival and forthcoming destinations. 

You can also talk to our hostess who oversees all the issues regarding the crew members. She knows the entire weekly schedule and is there for you.  

PAYMENTS 

  • When is the deadline for making a payment for my place on the sailboat?

The payments must be made at the atest 40 days before the commencement of your journey. 

  • If I make a payment and cancel the trip, will I get a refund? 

We will return your money if you cancel your reservation within 48 hours from the payment. All cancellations outside of this period, unfortunately, cannot be refunded.  

  • Do I have to have travel insurance?

Our entire crew is insured by the owner of the vessel. But we definitely recommend that you take out a personal travel insurance policy that covers adventurous activities, medical expenses and personal property insurance.  

OTHER QUESTIONS

  • I never went sailing before, is this a problem?

Of course not. Most of our guests are sailing for the first time. And without exception, they are all thrilled by it. We sail only for a few hours per day so that you are in contact with the shore every day.  

  • Am I safe on the sailboat? 

To us, safety comes first. Our skippers are experienced professionals who know their sailboats and weather conditions very well. If you listen to the skipper’s instructions, you have no reasons to worry.  

  • How long do we sail?

We only sail for a few hours per day, which is the time we need to reach the destination islands. The sailing is completely safe and is unlike the competitive regattas on the open sea. All sailboats sail together as part of the EXTRA WEEK fleet.   

  • What if I get seasickness?

The seasickness is something that can be controlled and can’t cause big problems. We spend several hours on the shore every day, so you have no reason to worry. Our skippers have the pills for the prevention of seasickness. If you feel nauseous, please talk to your skipper.  

  • Can I come sailing even if I can’t swim?

Of course. Each sailboat is equipped with a rubber lifeboat and lifejackets. You can always safely reach the shore even when we are not in a marina.  

  • Does the price include breakfast and lunch?

Yes. A sufficient amount of groceries for breakfast and lunch for each crew member is included in the price. The groceries that are traditionally served in Croatia for breakfast and lunch. If you are on a special diet regime for health or religious reasons, feel free to write us a note.  

  • We prepare lunch ourselves?

Exactly. The price includes the groceries for lunch, which you will prepare yourself, in agreement with the skipper. To conserve the energy on the boat, the lunch is usually prepared once a day, so that the entire crew eats together. 

  • Can we bring alcohol onboard? Or water?

Of course. Feel free to bring alcohol. There is plenty of room on the boat for storing alcohol outside of the fridges, and for the drinks that must be served cold, there will be enough space in the fridge. The drinking water for each crew member is included in the price.   

  • Is it hot to sleep in the cabin?

It’s not hot. The nights on the boat are pleasant. If you open the cabin window, you will need a blanket because there’s always a light breeze on the sea at night.
